Hi, I’m Jakub A. Makowski (sometimes known as Kubamaki or Maki), a creative storyteller with over 30 years of experience in video editing, cinematography, animation, and motion graphics. I transform ideas into dynamic visual content that engages, educates, and inspires.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients—from educational institutions and broadcast companies to global brands. With a versatile skill set, I’ve also been involved in creating artistic performances and cultural events. My work spans producing visually compelling films, animations, and motion graphics for both digital platforms and broadcast.
I have a strong background in filmmaking, having developed content that makes complex subjects like physics, mathematics, and engineering both accessible and engaging, often combining real footage with animation. I’ve also been deeply involved in cultural events and productions—working on documentaries, cultural news, and television programmes, sometimes as a journalist, sometimes as a cameraman or editor, and often taking on all these roles at once. Beyond technical skills, I thrive on shaping raw footage and ideas into cohesive stories, blending design, motion, and narrative seamlessly.
Whether I’m behind the camera, crafting animations, or editing a project into its final form, my goal is always the same: to bring stories to life in ways that truly resonate with audiences.
When I’m not working on creative projects, I enjoy experimenting with new visual techniques, exploring storytelling in different formats, and developing animated concepts that combine fun, education, and imagination.

2019–Present: Video Editing, Animation & Motion Design
Since 2019, I have focused on video editing, animation, and motion graphics, creating engaging content for educational and corporate clients.
My recent collaborations include clients: Fluke, History Hit, Linx, Muslim Aid, Napoleon Creative, Ogilvy HealthWorld, Ortus Club, Power of Knowledge, Trinity College Cambridge, Università della Svizzera Italiana, Webtec, XAAR, CIPS.
In these projects, I primarily worked as a video editor and animator/motion designer, transforming concepts and raw footage into polished, visually compelling stories.
